The option of commenting on questions is very useful for the development and improvement of the questionnaire. However, it is by no means appropriate for respondents to give answers to substantive responses to survey questions (text-type questions, e.g. 'questions with open answers (see Q2)') in the form of comments, since comments are not stored in the database, which serves as the basis for analysis but are merely stored in the comments database.
Comments are available only in paid 3KA package. To enable comments, go to the 'EDIT' – 'Settings' – 'Comments' tab or click on the two clouds icon at the top right corner of the screen (below to the help icon). You can later see the comments in the 'TEST' - 'Comments' tab or by clicking on the cloud icon.
Commenting (and testing) is vital to the development of a questionnaire, and is thus recommended for all surveys. It is particularly useful and effective when we substitute a text editor (e.g. Microsoft Word) with the use of comments in the development stage of the questionnaire and the exchange of different versions via email.
