While editing a 'table - single answer' question type in the 'EDIT' - 'Questionnaire' tab you can choose MaxDiff layout. Table Max-Diff is an approach used when we want to determine the preference/importance of various factors (e.g. buying a new mobile phone, brand image, product characteristics). This approach is mainly used in marketing research.
We can create a Max-Diff table in two steps. First, by selecting the 'table - single answer' question type and then, in the editor on the right side, by clicking on the layout and choosing ‘MaxDiff’. The table will be transformed, so that answers (e.g. factors, features) will be in the middle of the table, while extreme categories (most and least important) will be on the leftmost and rightmost. A respondent will choose the answer/factor/attribute that is the most and the least important to them by clicking on the radio button.
By default, the extreme values of the categories are described as 'Most important' and 'Least important'. By clicking on the category name, you can rename the categories.
